Wow… I grew up in Colorado Springs and was shocked on June 26, 2012 when the Waldo Canyon fire jumped the ridge and burned around 300 homes in the northwest corner of the city. The fire had over 1000 firefighters working on it from all around the country. Here is a short piece reflecting on that day.
